We call it... “Camping”. It’s this new thing - where you leave the machinations of the urban world behind and retreat to the calming surrounds of nature. (To some extent. But you still get to sleep in a comfy bed.) 1/4 mile trek. A footbridge over a winding stream, a fire-pit, a hammock, Adirondack chairs and a quiet world beneath the hemlocks will be your immediate surroundings. No electricity. No running water. You are alone - surrounded by hundreds of acres of private, wild forest.

Welcome to Hygge Headquarters

Hygge (hue-gah) is a Danish concept which translates to a calm and comfortable space and time with friends and family (or by yourself), in an atmosphere of warmth, well-being and coziness. Hygge Headquarters is located in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. We are 30 minutes or less from Lake George and many other recreational activities such as railbiking, skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, public hunting land and white water rafting. The tent has a King size bed and a futon that folds out into a double. All bedding is provided. Supplies for French press coffee are included. There are solar lights inside and outside the tent plus rechargeable lanterns on the night stands. A beautiful outhouse with pit toilet will be your bathroom for your stay. This is truly camping in comfort!
