The local parade of shops just a few minutes away includes a bakery, off license, hardware store, chemist and launderette. There are also several coffee shops, pubs, takeaways and restaurants on the doorstep. Walmer Green is the hub for summer events including the famous Deal Carnival in July and weekly Sunday concerts at the bandstand. From May to September the free open air children's paddling pool is open . A 15-minute level stroll along the seafront promenade leads to Deal town. Buses into Deal, Sandwich, Canterbury, Dover and beyond stop a few metres from the cottage. Deal's award winning High Street and train station are also only a 15 minute stroll away. With pubs, cafés, and local shops selling basic provisions on the doorstep. Walmer Green is a few paces away from the apartment and throughout the summer provides the backdrop for weekly events such as the annual antiques brocante, funfair, vintage car and motorbike displays, food market.
