Food Scene
Located in the heart of the Platzl (see above), The Pedal and Tap has been featured on the food network for their quality food and sheer brilliance. The Pedal features a few town favourites like the “Meat and Spaghetti Balls” (yes, you read correctly), and Mucky Fries. With lots of room and a huge patio they still remain busy many evenings, so you may have to wait for a table (definitely worth it).

This is the sister restaurant/pub to the Pedal and Tap. Located just around the corner in the Platzl, The Shed caters to more of the bar crowd. While the atmosphere is a little more casual, the food is still supreme, featuring delicious calzones, huge baked potatoes, and a few dishes with a comfort food favourite, tater tots.

180 Deer Park AveThis is the sister restaurant/pub to the Pedal and Tap. Located just around the corner in the Platzl, The Shed caters to more of the bar crowd. While the atmosphere is a little more casual, the food is still supreme, featuring delicious calzones, huge baked potatoes, and a few dishes with a comfort food favourite, tater tots.
This new building stands a top where an old section of the Platzl burned down. A modern building with a huge patio, Stonefire serves Neapolitan style pizza baked in a 900 degree wood-fired masonry oven that was hand built in Naples, Italy. At this heat, these pizzas take less than a minute to bake although I would ensure you are not rushed for time when choosing to eat here as there can be a bit of a wait when it’s busy.

Stonefire Pizzeria

A modern building with a huge patio, Stonefire serves Neapolitan style pizza baked in a 900 degree wood-fired masonry oven that was hand built in Naples, Italy. At this heat, these pizzas take less than a minute to bake although I would ensure you are not rushed for time when choosing to eat here as there can be a bit of a wait when it’s busy.
This place is amazing. The building is a 350 year old Bavarian Farmhouse brought over to Canada piece by piece in 1989. They serve German style food, mixed with fresh and local ingredients. The menu items include schnitzels and feature homemade breads, but if you’re really hungry we would suggest you opt for The Bavarian Feast. As long as you have more than 2 people total, The Feast features 8 courses of impeccable dishes. Located up near the ski hill. This is another place that takes their time making your food so it might not be the best if you are on a tight schedule. We definitely suggest making a reservation!

If you’re looking for a light breakfast or lunch in the Platzl, try the Snowdrift. With homemade breads and soups every day, this cute little coffee shop is the perfect place to spend your morning. Snowdrift does not open until 9:00 though, so if you are an early riser, we would suggest you try elsewhere! See below:

These paths are well maintained in both seasons with mapped and marked trails. Go to the Information Building in the Platzl for a detailed map!
