Our Watauga Lake front home is a perfect vacation getaway, located at the end of a point, the large deep water dock is ideal for year round boating and water sports. Conveniently located, we are within the quaint town of Butler and close to restaurants, small country stores and Cove Ridge Marina. Although Watauga Lake is our main attraction, we are near a number of waterfalls, hiking trails, mountain biking trails and the shopping areas surrounding the Tri-Cities and Boone, NC.

Enjoy our cozy cabin with hiking, fishing, and relaxing in rural North Carolina. The Appalachian Trail just 2 miles away. Elk River Falls is an easy hike. A full kitchen invites you to cook. Roast s'mores on the fire pit. Dine on the porch or enjoy the patter of rain on the roof, or snow in the winter. Play movies on the blue ray/DVD. Free electric vehicle charging. A multi-purpose room serves as a third bedroom or game-room. Fully equipped kitchen with everything necessary for meal preparation.

Sunbear Cabin - Cycling/Hiking/Flyfishing

Surrounded on three sides by the Pisgah National Forest with a long-range mountain view from the deck, adventure awaits right outside the door. Sunbear also has high-speed internet for remote work and a backup generator. Cooler months offer backcountry hiking along creeks chocked with waterfalls off the eastern flank of the cabin. Summer features wildlife, Fireflies, and a nice quiet place to escape the summer heat.
