Castle Loft, Central Wallingford

Wallingford was once home to one of the strongest and most important castles in England. In 1067 William the Conqueror instructed the building of the castle on his way to London to take the throne. In 1502 Henry VIII inherited the castle. On 17 November 1652 Cromwell’s Council of State ordered its demolition, making way for this newly built loft apartment within the castle boundary. It is located in the peaceful village of Holton, just 6 miles from the centre of Oxford. Oxford, High Wycombe and London are all easily accessible and there are lots of transport links nearby. This is a great location for the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University and Oxford Brookes.

Set in the heart of the Cotswolds in the Windrush Valley, our guest house is set at the end of the garden and perfect for those wanting a short escape. The guest house is a newly converted, beautiful stone cottage, with an open plan living space, fully stocked kitchen and king bed or twin beds with ensuite bathroom. There are wonderful walks and cycling right on our doorstep.
