Crown Point State Historical Site is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the ruins of two fortifications from the colonial wars between the British and French. Long before the American Revolution, these colonial powers both laid claim to the Champlain Valley and this strategically important peninsula known as Crown Point.

Fabulous Revolutionary War Historic Fort. Great to explore, walk the hidden British built fort, ruins mostly in tact surrounded by a moat in the shape of a Pentagon. 1 mile clise just over Champlain Bridge to Crown Point New York.

Crown Point State Historic Site is the site of a former military stronghold at the south end of the wider part of Lake Champlain. 1737, long before the Revolution, the British and the French both claimed Crown Point in the struggle for a North American empire and used it as a base for raids on British settlements in New York and New England. The location is in Essex County, the site is on a peninsula in the town of Crown Point, New York.

Fort built by British to control bottleneck on strategic Lake Champlain. Officers quarters still partially intact with fireplaces. Museum, grounds include rock quarries, secondary fortifications, moat and original French Fort Frederic located directly on water. About 9 miles away.
