Sherwood Island Beach and State Park is 10 min by car at exit 18 of 95. They still sell out of state season pass for around $110. You can use it at any CT state park and beach. Also you can get daily parking there too and it's $15 for out of state vehicles.

Beach on Long island Sound. Lots of parking, Large beach, Pavilion with food. more than one bath house, handicap accessible, off season (spring, fall, winter) you can have the beach to yourself. Great beach for walking.

Sherwood Island State Park is a public recreation area on the shore of Long Island Sound in the Greens Farms section of Westport, Connecticut.

This is a State run beach open to all. If driving a Connecticut registered automobile the entry fee is $13, out of state $22. This beautiful beach is southeast of here about 18 miles. Connecticut has more public beaches, but this is closest and perhaps has the most reasonable fee.

A cheaper alternative to getting a day pass to Compo Beach but not quite as nice.
