"Founded in 1966 on the campus of Duke University in Durham, NC, the Duke Lemur Center is a world leader in the study, care, and protection of lemurs—Earth’s most threatened group of mammals. With more than 200 animals across 14 species, the DLC houses the world’s largest and most diverse population of lemurs outside their native Madagascar."
Lemurs!! Largest population of these fun & funky primates outside of Madagascar. Don't miss it!
Cutest experience I can recommend. The Duke Lemur Center has the largest collection of lemurs outside of Madagascar. You can get an up-close look at the lemurs and the research facility. There are regular tours available, but if you plan ahead, you can make a reservation for the habitat experience, which gives you the most intimate and interactive opportunity, but space is limited and it fills up quickly. Host Tip: I have contacts at the Lemur Center, if you have any issues getting in let me know :)
