Hie shrine is located at southern part of Takayama City, 15mins walk from Takayama station. In Takayama, there are two main festivals in the spring and autumn: the Sanno Festival in the spring, which is the festival of the Hie Shrine. The Sanno Festival is held annually on the 14th and 15th of April.
