The bridge, one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world, was built almost one century ago as a shortcut for workers who had to cross the valley and the Lima stream. Opened in 1922 it’s 220 meters long and its highest point is 40 meters. It is made with steel cables anchored to rocks by heavy chains, with side tie rods that make it more secure and it is just less than a meter wide.

Uno dei ponti pedonali a fune più lunghi al mondo. Il Ponte sospeso delle Ferriere è una passerella pedonale che collega i due versanti del torrente Lima tra Mammiano Basso e Popiglio nel comune di San Marcello Piteglio.
