Ancient flint quarries open to the public via reservation-only ranger tours hiking up steep steps. You also can visit Lake Meredith. It’s in the same area.

Native Americans used flint from Alibates as knives, arrowheads, tools and currency. Alibates flint has been found in archeological digs in both the North and South America's. Please take lots of water!
