River rock shoreline of the American River’s North Fork. $10 day-use; pay at the ranger kiosk before driving the wellmaintained 1.5-mile dirt road. The current here is mild, and the water is deep enough to float and swim. holes SWIMMING Getting There From 80 west, take exit 121 for Auburn Ravine Rd/Foresthill. Turn left on Foresthill Road to get over 80. After about 5.5 miles, look for Upper Lake Clementine Road on the left. This is a great place to visit with the family! A slow spot on the river, one can bring a paddle board or two for a paddle upriver or just relax on the water. Parking is near the river, so no need to hike in. Remember - no glass, alcohol, or BBQs allowed here. Bring your Poppy Pass for free parking, otherwise it's $10 per vehicle. **Note - 1 mile dirt road down to the river from the entrance. 4WD not necessary, but you'll need to take it slow!
