Midway Beach is located only a few kilometres south of Gisborne city and is a very popular beach. The city’s swimming pool is located directly behind Midway Surf Life Saving Club. Midway’s main users are swimmers and surfers and they both need to take care when waves are over one metre. Midway Surf Life Saving Club patrols weekends and public holidays and there are also professional Lifeguards during the summer months.

Great location; beach is great; Life guards set up so family friendly. Olympic pool across the road. Walkway all the way in to town.
