Lowestoft has a stunning sandy beach with a promenade edged with colourful beach huts, a pier and a cafe open 364 days a year, The Sunrise Cafe. Flying Fifteens is a based in a converted victorian villa on the Promenade with outside seating, and a wonderful selection of snacks and specialist teas.

Promenade to the harbour circular walk Our favourite walk encompasses the highlights of Southwold. The route is about 2-3 miles and has plenty of places for you to stop. Start on the Pier, making sure you visit the Tim Hunkin artwork, before walking right along the promenade. Admire the beach-huts or stop for a cup of tea. Then carry on until across the sand dunes until you reach the harbour. Walk along the harbour's edge with its working fishing boats until you reach the Harbour Inn pub (where we highly recommend the fish and chips).
