This has been one of the city’s best hole-in-the wall burger joints since well before the modern burger craze. Paradoxically, it’s tucked away behind a curtain in a posh hotel lobby. There’s bumping music and graffiti on the walls, and kids can watch the grills fire up meat patties that are ground in house. Go for a cheeseburger with “the works.” You can write on the walls, which the kids LOVE to do, and will always remember.

Hidden inside the lobby of the Parker Meridian Hotel (look for the tiny neon hamburger) is a blast from New York's workaday past. Great fries too!

Awesome "secret" burger joint hidden in the lobby of the Le Parker Meridien Hotel in Midtown. Enter the lobby on 56th st and just after the reception counter on the left is a hidden hallway entrance.
