We love going here with family members to de-stress from the rigors of life. This area is mainly forest with woodlands, glades and old fields. Facilities/features: picnic areas, unstaffed firearms range, intermittent stream and a permanent stream. A well-marked trail system provides 18 miles of trails for use by hikers, bicyclists, and horseback riders. Camping is permitted ONLY with a permit available through the Springfield Regional office. The shooting range is closed on Mondays for maintenance. Enjoy the solitude of what the Ozarks has to offer!

It's free. Excellent single track trails through the Ozarks. These trails aren't for the faint of heart. It's a bit north of town right off Hwy 65 so might be good place to hit on your drive in or out.
