Lose yourself for an hour or so, meandering through the beautiful park. See the Ashton Memorial, explore the butterfly house and enjoy refreshments in the cafe. It's a short, uphill walk of about 10 minutes to the park entrance on Wyresdale road.

A fantastic park with play area, pond, woodland walks and cafe. There is a butterfly house and mini beast house as well. The views across Morecambe Bay are beautiful. The park also has an outdoor theatre performance in the summer, performed by The Dukes Playhouse.

This is a great place to head out with the family, its free to visit (unless you need parking and then its only £2 for the whole day) and has so much to offer. The park itself is quite large, paths lead you through quiet cosy gardens, lakes with fountains, a waterfall, and towards the top of the park a wilderness space popular with children and those who love wildlife. A striking feature on top of the hill in Williamsons Park is the Ashton Memorial, a folly which is open to the public with great views over Morecambe bay from the viewing platform at the top. The park also includes a cafe with THE MOST AMAZING chocolate eclairs!! and the Butterfly House which we just love. On a wild windy day its a great place to warm up and have a quiet moment with the butterflies, in the summer it just fits the mood of the whole park. The playparks are recently refurbished and great fun. There are two, one near the top of the hill for smaller children and a slightly more adventurous one below Ashton Memorial.

Exciting park full of surprises! Nooks and crannies, hidden treats, views galore... Ashton Memorial, cafe, butterfly house and children's mini beast zoo. A perfect day out for all of you. Please see circular Lancaster walk in the basket - this is about 1/2 way round....
