About an hour’s drive Southwest - this National Park is a total gem. Most business close through winter - but a hotel and restaurant remain open year-round. Great day trip!!

The prairies of Alberta meet the peaks of the Rocky Mountains in Waterton Lakes National Park. Clear lakes, thundering waterfalls, rainbow-coloured streams, colourful rocks and mountain vistas await hikers and sightseers.

This National Park is shared with Glacier National Park in Montana, it is an absolutely beautiful place and I suggest you stay in the area overnight as there is so much to see. Take the Waterton Shoreline Cruise, it is a wonderful excursion.

“Nice variety of flavors. This is a good ice cream shop. The scoops are ample and the taste is worthy of a stop. They even have sugar free that is pretty tasty. ”

“Rocky Mountain Grocery Store has so much more than just food. They carry camping gear, axes and knives, and artwork by local photographers. Some of the food they carry is grown and crafted by the local Hutterite colonies. This store is a critical part of the Waterton community supplying the needs of residents, workers, campers, tourists, and all-comers. ”
