The Cathedral of Santa María de la Sede is a truly unique monument. Most people are used to visiting churches and cathedrals when they go to new places, but this seems to be from another world. The Cathedral of Seville is important because of two main facts; it is considered the largest cathedral in the world, and the original building at this location was actually a mosque, built at the end of the 1100s.

Santa María de la Sede de es la catedral gótica cristiana con mayor superficie del mundo. La Unesco la declaró en 1987 Bien de Valor Universal Excepcional. La edificación se realizó en el solar que quedó tras la demolición de la antigua mezquita aljama de Sevilla, de la cual se conservan el alminar, la Giralda, y el patio de los Naranjos. Santa Maria de la Sede is the Christian Gothic cathedral with the largest area in the world. UNESCO declared it in 1987 well of exceptional Universal value. The building was carried out in the land that was after the demolition of the old Aljama Mosque of Seville, of which are conserved the minaret, the Giralda, and the Patio de los Naranjos.
