Metrorail can take you downtown. Last service back is around midnight on Friday and 1 on saturday. Easy to take a lyft or uber. Kids love taking the train. It's fast and has a smooth ride.

Park & Ride Metro Rail (also a bus stop) - 7 minute drive & it takes you right to the heart of downtown. You can bring your bike on board too! $7 all day pass, completely worth not driving & parking.
