The Aegean Maritime Museum is a non-profit institution which was founded in 1985 on the island of Myconos. Its purpose is to collect study and promote Greek maritime history and tradition, in particular the evolution and activities of the merchant ship, mainly in the historic region of the Aegean Sea. The Aegean Maritime Museum is housed in a traditional 19th century Myconian building, which is located at the centre of the Town of Myconos.

The Aegean Maritime Museum of Mykonos, Cyclades : The Aegean Maritime Museum of Mykonos opened its doors in 1985 and it is housed in a traditional Cycladic building of the 19th century in Mykonos Town, in the neighborhood of Tria Pigadia (Three Wells). The aim of the museum is to present and study the history of the Greek nautical tradition. The exhibits of the museum include ship models from the early Minoan period until the beginning of the 20th century, historic shipping documents, rare engravings and maps as well as ancient items and tools. The library of the museum consists of 5,000 rare books and an interesting archive of manuscripts and photos. The garden exhibits marble findings from Delos and Mykonos, a reference to shipwrecks and sailors who were lost at sea.

Il Museo Marittimo Egeo è ospitato in un tradizionale edificio Mykonian del XIX secolo situato al centro della città di Mykonos, nella zona conosciuta come Tria Pigadia. L'edificio fu sede del mitico Maestro della nave mercantile "Enosis", Nikolaos Sourmelis, che assisteva i Cretesi durante la loro guerra di indipendenza dall'Impero Ott The Aegean Maritime Museum is housed in a traditional Mykonian building of the 19th century located at the centre of the Town of Mykonos, in the area known as Tria Pigadia. The building was the home of the legendary Master of the merchant ship "Enosis", Nikolaos Sourmelis, who assisted the Cretans during their war of independence from the Ottoman Empire.
