Sunrise Canoe and Kayak near the dyke offers guided and self-guided tours with rented canoes and kayaks. They even deliver within 30 miles!

They offer rentals for kayaks which can be dropped off at your paddling location. They also offer guided trips in the area.

While there are numerous places to rent kayaks and canoes down in the Bar Harbor area, we are a bit limited up in DownEast area of Maine. Sunrise Canoe & Kayak, however, does rent both kayaks and canoes and is located approximately 35 minutes North of Milbridge in the town of Machias (pronounced muh-CHAI-us). Best of all they DELIVER TO MILBRIDGE! :D

If you are interested in renting a canoe or kayak while in the area, you can check with this local outfitter. We haven't worked with them personally, so we can't vouch for them, but most of their reviews are very positive.
