At this historical movie theater in Montmartre, there are many treasures like the remarkable chandelier imagined by Jean Cocteau and a courtyard fresco that celebrates French cinema. It is also well known for being the theater where Audrey Tautou sees a film in Amélie. If you don’t speak French, this theater collaborates with a group called Lost in Frenchlation that arranges French movies with English subtitles. The bimonthly screenings are always preceded by cocktails in the lounge.

Original design by Jean Cocteau, historic small lovely cinema showing films in Version Originale. So you can practise your French from the sub-titles while watching film in English! Fair admission prices too.

A symbolic and historical movie theater open since 1928 for movie lovers to sit where Bunuel and Cocteau once loved to fight for their freedom! With a nice terrace in the courtyard and cafeteria.

Oldest cinema in Paris, good programme. Even if you don't want to see a film, you can enjoy the hidden café and open patio. Highly recommended. Closed in august.
